Union 613

While visiting Ottawa this weekend I ate at an amazing restaurant called Union 613 the décor caught my eye. Wall sconces and chandeliers were made from old beer bottles and decorative industrial pipes helped create the library of books covering the walls.

I was looking for the perfect vanity for a very girly bedroom I found the vanity, paired it up with a mirror but could not find a bench that worked. I decided to take matters into my own hands and found a bench at Around The Block an antique consignment store. The bench was $65 I sprayed the bench in white and reupholstered it with a gold snake skin like fabric. 

Disguise

In my family room I had so many exposed wires it drove me absolutely crazy!! I had options I could drill holes into the wall and hide them but I definitely do not trust myself with power tools. Instead I bought a box for $7 cut a hole in the back and weaved the wires and power bar through it - and you would never know!

Simple DIY

While decorating my sisters bedroom we had to make due with some of the furniture that she already had. She has a black lacquered dresser that had seen better days. We gave the dresser a mini facelift by replacing    the existing 15 silver knobs with 16 crystal ones. Something so little and easy makes such a difference.

Each knob cost $5 so this mini makeover came in at $80
